What's a newborn "lifestyle" session?
A.My newborn lifestyle session focuses on the connection between you, your new baby, and entire family. I'll capture those special moments in a more authentic, candid way (with some posing) as opposed to traditional, overly-posed newborn photos in a studio with lots of props and artificial light.
I love to get a mix of authentic family images and, of course, focusing in on your precious new babe and his/her adorable little features that won't stay that way for long!
How do I book my newborn session?
A.Yay! I'm so happy you're thinking about booking a session with me! Please go to the "Book Now" page to fill out my inquiry form so I know what your needs are and when your due date is. For Newborn sessions, I like to ask for your due date in order to make note of it in my schedule. I will be sure to leave availability in my books around that date for when baby arrives. Once baby is here and you have a moment, just shoot me an email or text and we will get something on the calendar right away! In the meantime, I will send you a "proposal" which contains your contract + invoice. I do require a 50% non refundable retainer in order to secure your spot (our email confirmation does not secure your date/time). Please keep in mind that if your retainer is not paid within 48 hours, your spot will be opened up to other clients.
Can I book a shorter Newborn Session (i.e. 30 minutes)?
A.I require a minimum of 60 minutes for Newborn sessions (but will stay up to 90 minutes). On average, I spend between 70-80 minutes at each Newborn session. Between diaper changes, feedings, outfit changes, extra snuggles for the occasional fussy period... the more time, the better! Ultimately, I want you to have the best experience and best images possible of you and your family! When I started photographing newborns, I did offer 30-minute sessions and 100% of them went over their time :)
Do you shoot Newborn sessions on the weekend?
A.Typically, newborn sessions are held on weekdays between 9-11am. In general, to make time for family and to have a healthy work/life balance, I am currently only booking sessions Monday-Friday, and one Saturday a month. I do not book any sessions on Sundays.
Where will you shoot my Newborn Session?
A.Typically, I photograph newborns at home or at a studio. You do have to pay a studio rental fee to shoot at any local studio, aside from my in-home studio (which will hopefully be open in February). Most studios charge between $65-$85 by the hour.
How far will you travel for photos?
A.I will travel up to 30 minutes from Plain City for all sessions. For Newborn, I will travel up to an hour one day, but will charge a mileage fee after 30 minutes.
When will I receive my edited images?
A.I endeavour to provide a few "Sneak Peek" images within 48 hours of your session. Newborn Session galleries will typically be delivered in 10-12 business days.
